The Face That Sparked The Idea For Boudoir Kitty-Cat Portraits

Anyone who is a cat guardian knows how these little creatures are consumate models who usually love our attention.  Quite honestly, I think they know how endearing, radiant and often whimsical they are in our eyes.  From the very beginning of my photography career when I was learning the ropes, my cats Cleo & Sheba were frequently photographed.   Then Smokey Robinson was added to the mix my camera came out even more often to document all the little moments that made my heart swell.  One day back in February of 2011, while changing the sheets on my bed, Sheba jumped up on the bed and started rolling around.  Her sweet, irresistible nature and that fact that she looks like a big ball of cotton, is enough draw for me to photograph her in general…let alone when she is rolling around being so playful.  When she saw my camera up against my face it was as though she really started “working it.”  To be quite honest I think the experience was a fun for her as it was for me.  At the end of  Sheba’s portrait session,  I told my sweetie (Brian) that Sheba’s had her first boudoir session.  We both laughed and then the light bulb went off in my head.  Thus, the idea of Boudoir Kitty-Cat was sparked!  Boudoir Kitty-Cat is all about celebrating the beautiful, playful, elegant nature of our feline companions.  After 10 yrs. of being a wedding photographer, I found it was time to move on and pursue my true love of photographing cats.  I am so excited about this transition.  I know it will take time, but that is the case with everything in life that is worth pursuit.  For more information on Boudoir Kitty-Cat please check out the Boudoir Kitty-Cat Brochure we recently put together.  If you like what you see here you may want to check out the Boudoir Kitty-Cat Promo created by the talented Brian Hallett.  Anyway, below are some images from Sheba’s session that sparked the idea of Boudoir Kitty-Cat.  I hope you like what you see and look forward to meeting you and your beloved kitty/kitties!
