Williamson County Animal Shelter Franklin | Kitties Looking For Forever Homes | Cole

When I first met Cole he was hidden under a towel in his cage at the Williamson County Animal Shelter in Franklin, TN.   For a moment I thought the cage was uninhabited until I saw the towel move up and down with his little breaths.  This was also the way I found Cole  on my second and third Shelter visits.  Cole was an owner surrender because he was unwanted.  Whenever I see “unwanted” on the kennel cards at the Shelter I feel twinges of pain in my chest.  So can you blame the little guy for hiding under his towel?!  I would be hiding too.  Who hasn’t had moments in life where the desire to hide from the world in a safe place seemed appealing?

Needless to say, Cole and I became friends during my very first visit to the Shelter.  From the very moment I pulled back the towel and looked into his little, round eyes and touched his silky fur my heart melted.  This shy little fella quickly demonstrated that deep down he was a little love bug that merely needed a little coaxing to come out of his shell.  Who doesn’t feel this way at times, right?  Now, whenever I visit the Shelter I made a special effort to bond with Cole.  Taking the time to establish Cole’s trust and build up his confidence is only going to help him be able to charm the person who will hopefully adopt him into his forever home.  With the right guardian I know this little love bug will completely emerge from his shell.

The photos included in this post were taken on my fourth visit to the Shelter last Friday.  I was elated to find Cole sitting on top of his polka dot towel looking relaxed.  Cole proved to be a true muse on this day.  He was comfortable enough with me to let me wrap him up in his towel for these whimsical photos of his sweet spirit.  If you are someone else you know has a heart for black cats please consider adopting this little 1 yr. old.  Please help spread the word by sharing, liking and/or recommending this post so that Cole can find his ideal and affectionate forever guardian.  I really want to adopt him but am at my three cat max for the time being.  Cole can be found at The Williamson County Animal Shelter Franklin.  Click here for their details.  To see more kitties available for adoption click here.
